The HS House project involved the interior design and appropriate renovation of an apartment located in Bornova. The focus of the project was on the entrance, hallway, kitchen, and bathroom spaces.
Embracing a philosophy of minimalism and simplicity, the design approach was carefully adopted. The apartment, which was in a considerably worn-out state, underwent a complete transformation. All room doors facing the hallway were replaced with simple white wooden doors that harmonize with the overall design concept. To create contrast, the entrance door was selected in a matte black finish, against the light-toned marble flooring chosen for the hallway. In the entrance area, where movable furniture was previously located, a clean wooden coat rack was designed. The same material was employed for the special custom-designed mirrored dresser at the end of the hallway, resulting in a coherent and unified entrance design. Instead of pendant lamps, recessed lighting was integrated into the ceiling of the hallway, ensuring the continuation of the clean and straightforward design approach.
The minimalist effect carried into the other designed spaces of the house, namely the kitchen and bathroom. Light gray shades were favored for tile selections, while white cabinet doors were chosen for the furniture units. Wooden details were introduced to surfaces where emphasis was desired, maintaining a sense of spaciousness and warmth without compromising the overall aesthetic of the design.
